Disappointed in the new catalog with the selection (or lack of) any new “Post War Inspired” or Conventional Classics offerings. Unless I’m missing something, they’ve got the same sets as last year, i.e., UP Anniversary Set, IC F3 Set, the Navy Alco Set, etc.

But that’s the way it goes. The money I won’t be spending on the Signature catalog will go to my other interest -- tinplate from LCT.

I'm in trouble. Too much C&NW stuff.

Pioneer Zephyr - Must Have

C&NW F7 plus extra B - Must Have

C&NW GP9, would have been a must have, but not sure now.

C&NW Dash9 - Want it, but not this time.

PRR - S2. any other year I would have said yes...maybe on the secondary market at a later date.

A few pieces of rolling stock. Overall, way more than I expected, unlike the last two or three catalogs

Ditto. Not happy wih this.

I was hoping for maybe the WP F3s or 217 B&M Alco  set. Even some freight cars would be nice.   Those are the only items I but from the catalog each year.  Oh well.. I'll get the Dummy RDC to add on to my other set, but nothing else in this catalog for me

Some neat looking stuff, but of the six roads I collect (CSX, Chessie, M&StL, Erie Lackawanna, Polar Railroad, Hershey), only EL is somewhat well-represented for new rolling stock.

I'll pick up both the Lackawanna and Erie 3-bay open hoppers from the 3-pack, the Lackawanna double-sheathed boxcar, and the Lackawanna hopper from the RTR catalog.

I'd been saving some pennies to add new power to my roster this year, but the absence of conventional offerings means that money gets spent on PW/MPC on eBay instead.  The new B&O GP9, Chessie GP35, and CSX Dash-9 would ALL be preordered if they were available in conventional.  Not a complaint, just a reality.

Since they made all those PWC Alco sets last year, I was hoping for a few new ones. Would have loved for them to make the 1467W Erie AA set. Or, as you say, some F3s.

I wouldn't touch the early Alco sets unless the remove the ribs from the body & fix the pilot.  I returned the UP set b/c of that.   Some steam would have been cool - a 2065, 2055 or 1615.  B&M GP9, 622 SF Switcher.  2400 Green 027 cars - lots of choices here!

I like the Mark Twain Zephyr, but it would need two more cars to be complete.

The Lackawanna and Pennsylvania double-sheathed boxcars are also really nice.

But, like many mentioned so far, I think the lack of offerings in the Traditional Line is disappointing.

It is good to see passenger trains re-enter the catalog, and the New Neil Young Line of traditional sized trains with Legacy and other neat features. But, can someone explain the appeal of the Texas Special?  It seems like every 3 years another version of that one train comes out.  There are plenty of passenger trains that never get made, but this keeps coming out as something new.

The only "NEW" postwar Item, is the Flat Car Carrying the Helicopter with Missiles and the Dummy RDC. I will be ordering a few of those cars, along with the Pennsylvania Turbine, but thats about it......STILL waiting for a PWC Milwaukee Road F3 Set and EP5!!! Along with the USMC Pyro Set!!!!!!!!

I hear you. I know several here posted about “the ribs” issue with the Alcos last year.

I ordered the UP Set and am happy with it.

Heading over to look at the new LCT Tinplate catalog (if I can find it).

Things had been chaotically hectic at work this week so  I hadn't paid attention and expected the catalog much later.  by happenstance due to delayed flights on incoming guests I had a nice hole in my schedule this morning so closed the door and looked through the catalog:

About what I expected, including a characteristic I don't like but anticipated: the new steamers (H7, Y3, PRR turbine) are all the same length and size (30").  Wish we could get some variation (one giant, one medium, one small instead).  And . . . shipping dates for most new locos aren't up on their website but the turbine is listed to ship next month!!  And two different 2-8-8-2s?  Not optimum - a little variety would be nice, but on balance I want both a Legacy H-7 and Y-3, the H-7 much more, but okay, the Y-3, too.  It's a Legacy steamer.  As they say: collect them all.

Anyway, I will make arrangements to get:

Union Pacific H-7 - 6-11399

Santa Fe Y-3         6-11404

PRR Turbine         6-11416 (this version for me: I love elephant ears)

Linc Funrl  add on  6-25631  two or three sets to repaint/bash - these are great early period cars!!!

UP Boxcar 6 - 29323    Several of them -- sure wish they offered multi-car pacs

City pack  6-24197 - several, like the newspaper stand, phone booth, etc, will allow some variation from just using the Woodland Scenics ones

Going to think about for a while:

Union Pacific E9 set and car sets - new body tooling?   And with both the UP and MR car sets it would make a very handsome train.  Gotta think about where I could put it if I bought it though.

Will not be getting: the MOW trucks - 6 inches long?  Not even close to scale, for sure.  Ugh.
