Looking at what has been published by the major dealers, prices are the same across the board. Basically 10% off Lionel's MSRP, no special "deals".

Its called Minimum Advertised Price or MAP for short. Dictated by Lionel to its dealers. A dealer can charge less but you would have to contact them directly to get their price.

Charles Ro? Nassau? Maybe some others?
Not sure all the "major dealers" as you call them have even published their prices yet.

You need to look harder. I just ordered an engine at 20% off and rolling stock at 25% off from a forum sponsor.
Not every item has a MAPed price and if you called the dealer directly they can charge whatever they like even if it is MAPed. They just can't post that lower price in print.

Any hints, begins with _______, sounds like _________ ?
I've been buying from Charles Ro for over a quarter century. The last few years, I've noticed about 15% off the posted catalog prices when I pre order. Makes that Big Boy a little easier to swallow.
Have we been tariffed? Almost seems like it.
I'm wondering if tariffs are affecting the prices.. looking at 2 steam engines and I'm north of 3 grand...OUCH+
I know that train world and mr. muffins have their prices up and they are much better than what Lionel wants.

Lionel always gets the price they want.

No, but by the time these ship, that may change.
Ro has sent out their pricing and it's on their website. For some items, you have to call or place the item in your "basket" to see the early buy pricing.

If you buy a Lionel, the dealer buys from Lionel at the price they set. The MSRP is just that for the retailer a "Suggested Retail Price". Lionel already got the price they wanted from the dealer.

Thanks for that. Ro usually doesn't post prices for a good week or so after the catalog comes out.
As usual, nice prices.
Charles Ro prices on lionel are never beat by the others. Tried to find 2026071 on Nassau's site - none!
No need to shop around, others just cant compete or don't show the stuff.
