The main things that stick out for me are all from the MTH tooling. The Amtrak engines, wood passenger cars (although I'll see if they match my existing), and the reindeer barn.  Hey Lionel you'd be wise to put a red LED in the "Rudolph" window.

Everything else isn't for me but at least we can put the 90 to bed finally.  Not a bad catalog though.

Well, they peaked my interest. The 2-8-0 steamers is the only wheel arrangement I don't have for steam engines. I've been going smaller for my steam engines purchases of late. Maine Central or NYC?

Also like the B&M wood sided passenger cars but 400 retail for two!!!!o_O I know going price will be around 350 but still:oops:

So no pre-orders for me. been burned to many times with defective product or bad paint jobs from Lionel. I'll wait until they hit the streets and the reviews.

Thoughts????

I am probably in the same situation as a lot of us- I have filled the walls with racks, found every area to put in (fake) yards, and used up all my space.  I was going to stay w/ conventional control.  That didn't last.  Time to start thinning the herd to create room, or maybe move.  The best solution is probably selling off the postwar stuff I bought a few years ago - maybe a train garage sale??

Then I would have room for new offerings!

I thought the catalog was pretty good! Prices not so much, lol. Definitely will be getting some Strasburg stuff and the Long Island C-Liner! I was hoping that Lionel would’ve made one of their 2-8-0’s as a “bootleg” Strasburg/N&W #475. Yeah, I know the the real #475 is a 4-8-0 and not a 2-8-0, but the Harriman version looks kinda similar to the way it looks now in my opinion 🤷‍♂️ Anyway, here’s all of my favorites...26C3C405-8DDA-442E-B64E-52BC618DD9FBF85C7459-5FCD-4353-907A-39EF6AC50436D5717E9E-D305-4936-861F-853154A5BFCD02CD7A3C-E513-47A3-81A4-9AC1AAAEEC579BD04B27-1E86-4578-8199-B6CED6C5A570

It's always good to see New England & Strasburg items. I already have the MTH Strasburg 19th Century cars, assuming these are a re-issue.

I love the artists painting of the cover - pure imagination. Anyone know if there's a hint in that? I instantly thought of the Acela which was featured in the last catalog. A cab view monitor would be awesome...not the caboose cam.

Great catch! Missed that until you mentioned it. Well, at least you know the picture was not an artist rendition.

I was looking for this mysterious 3rd piston when I saw it. The uniqueness of the drive and sounds makes me want to get this locomotive even though it's a heck of a stretch for the budget. I honestly think I would get it in a C&O scheme too. I'm not usually into the fantasy schemes but given that this thing would never find it my side of the country anyway, why not? It's sure to start some conversations and ball busting at operating sessions!

Since I only do PRR, I am safe with this catalog.  This is actually good news to me since I have an S1 coming soon.  Wallet needs to recover from that one.  Now if someone does a special run of the SW1200 in PRR, I would bite.  That is a sweet looking switcher.

When I heard they were doing FM C-Liners I thought maybe I would buy one.  When I saw the fantasy paint scheme on it (Tuscan 5-stripe) I was surprised, then I noticed Lionel's version is the passenger model (6-wheel rear truck).  So I guess that makes sense.  So that is a double reason I will pass - fantasy paint and the PRR never had the passenger version, only the freight version.

Did MTH do the freight version?
