The 2 shells and coal piles are the same, but that is about where it ends. Obviously the trucks are 6 wheel pre and postwar. The 226 had a metal bar that has a hole in it to fit over a peg in the locomotive for the drawbar. 2426 has a traditional postwar drawbar. The frame stamping is different for the trucks and lanced for the coupler centering spring.  The font lettering is somwwhat different between the 2.
