Lionel 6-14203 Ammusement Swing Ride feedback. Anybody own?

I've heard that this item doesn't always operate so well (specifically gears) and wanted to check in before taking the plunge to buy.

I have the Ferris Wheel and it runs like a champ. I even strung some colored lights around the second inner rim. If you use the outer rim you'll interfere with motor gear which I of course discovered after I had strung them. Will post video.
