Lionel 6-18228 (SP Dash 9) Parts diagram?

This diagram looks like it has it all.  Some parts look unavailable though.

Ah, yeah it does!  That's a different view than I was seeing.  I was just able to get the PDF, and it seemed to stop right after the truck sides. Awesome, thank you!

That engine had a fantastic sound.  The worm is part of item 63.  Give a look at item 93 the worm wheel gear.   Your best bet is to look for a complete truck if you can find one.

Thanks Marty! 93 looks to be available on ebay, so here's hoping its that one!  Finding a replacement truck would be nice, but I'm not going to hold my breath on a lot of those being available. 

I can't wait to get it into my hands (probably Wednesday) so I can actually see whats what!

I have the GE Demonstrator.  Marty is right, a really great sounding engine.  The start up sounds is pretty dang good considering the vintage.

Nice!  Do you happen to know if sounds will still work in conventional?  I am using an MTH unit with the whistle and horn button.

If there is nothing wrong with the boards (not sure if TMCC being broken would affect this - question for Marty F, maybe), the sounds should work in conventional, you just have less control of some of it (like RPMs). 

I'm sure I'm starting to sound like a broken record every time this engine comes up, but the horn is phenomenal!

It took me a min to realize the camera was moving. It sorta looked like the engine was wiggling, like it was excited to get moving!

Got the engine today. It does sound great!! 

I got a chance to dig into it, too.  Thought I would share it on here in case it helps someone down the road. It's interesting, because the gear doesn't look stripped, but rather it slid off the splined section and wasn't contacting the worm gear. 

I slid it back over the splined section, and it seems to be working well. It may be that it slides off again, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.
