One of the two locomotive's collectors/pick-up assemblies (not sure of their exact names) on my Lionel 6-28023 K-4 has a stiff spring. Basically, you press down on it and it won't spring back up. The spring doesn't look broke but something is making it real stiff. The other is still nice and springy.

I was expecting this to have a wire soldered to it or something more involved... but on a cursory inspection it appears to just screws off, no wires, so I guess the screw forms the electrical connection to the inner electronics. So, I assume this should be a super easy thing to replace (I already had it off)? I see a bunch of various ones on Ebay....

Can anyone give me the part number for a replacement one? I'm not sure how "universal" they are.

I see this listed on Lionel's parts site: https://www.lionelsupport.com/...CTOR-SINGLE-ROLLER_8 would this be a compatible part or would it only be for newer locomotives?

The pickup rollers from the recent LionChief Plus 2.0 K4s, LionChief Plus Hudsons or Pacifics would probably work.  If I guess wrong, they aren't that expensive and they might come in handy for a future project.  You might also need to buy the plastic insulators and mounting screws, just in case Lionel made changes in those areas.  My $.02.

After looking at the various part lists for various K4s that are on Lionel's Suppport site, this one did seem the closest. .

Still waiting for a response from Lionel to see if they had any input. In any case, I did just go ahead and order one since it was ~$7
