Hi guy's I'm new here. I have this tender and the wires were all gone. I got it to work and the motor runs fast but no sound coming from whistle. Is it possible the motor is running backwards? If i blow air from my compressor in the opposite direction the motor is running It's really loud. Thanks for your time, John.

Have you tried swaping the wires?
You don't need a compressor for this test. Just blow into the center inlet hole.
Just swap the wires at the brush connections to reverse the whistle motor.
The blower for the whistle is a centrifugal device. It sucks air in from the center and forces it out around the outside. The fan does not care which way it turns. The motor may have the commutator rotated slightly off center to reduce sparking without interpoles. That would be direction sensitive.
There may be a leak in the chamber if you need a compressor to get sound.

Ok thank you very much. I read a lot of your posts and find them very helpful. I can blow in the whistle and get good sound with out the compressor, I just used it to blow any dirt. I'll try switching the wires. I don't know for if it's wired correctly as there was nothing inside. Thanks again, John.
