I have the above mentioned 8309 with die-cast tender. A few of the plastic handrail stanchions on the tender are broken. They appear to be plastic and just snug fit into the holes in the top of the tender rear deck. I cannot find a p/n for these to order replacements from like Jeff the Train Tender. Can anyone help identify a p/n? Thanks!

FYI, the tender on the 8309 came with die-cast handrail stanchions. The plastic ones weren't created until almost a decade after the 8309 was catalogued.

If they are metal, 700E-70
I got an old one out that was not broken. It is metal but not threaded on the bottom. I tried a plastic one but they are too big for the holes abd id rather not drill them. Any ideas on a p/n? It has a slit in the bottom which i think provides a tight fit to hold it in.
I'll be a little more specific, 700E-70 is the handrail stanchion, less nut. 690-700E-070 is the handrail stanchion without a backing nut needed, like your picture. Those are going to be a tough find. You may have to use the older 700E-70 with a hex nut, should fit in the hole.
