The I-Phone game that Lionel pushed a couple of years ago no longer functions. Lionel Battletrain was not updated for Apple's newest operating system release. Anyone know if Lionel is going to fix this issue?

Hi Scott, It's Apple iOS 11. They did away with support for 32bit apps.
Just setting up my iPhone 8 tonight. Upgraded from iPhone 6.
Nick
Did they ever come out with an Android version, or one that would run on a P.C.?
It no longer appears in the App Store. No new downloads. Existing installations would therefore be orphaned to die without the upward compatibility afforded by ongoing support.
Looks like they pulled the plug on another misadventure - just like Megatracks.
That stinks, I just got an I-Pad two weeks ago.

iSOP....
I'm still waiting for Lionelville part 2
Lionel, imho, should just focus on trains for which there are enough problems to solve and leave all the other stuff (megatracks, battletrain, and nascar) alone.
Heck, Menards seems to be crushing it with traditional rolling stock, buildings (especially the York Hotel), and the Frenchies vehicle). And they recently let some key people go. There are bigger fish to fry then the extracurricular stuff.

Greg,
what key people were let go?
Battletrain was terrible right from the beginning, not very good.
Dave
Don't blame Lionel to much here, Apple's indifference and apathy is ice older than MS existence. Otherise you'd see some backwards compatibility. i-still make it my last choice for cold desisions from the early 80s.

Did they pull the plug on Megatracks???
The Lionel web pages are still up, and Amazon is selling it.

I had received this impression after Howard Hitchcock conceded on a recent podcast that Megatracks was a flop, and a bunch of folks got laid off. They may still be selling product out of the warehouse in the same way postwar Lionel did with unpopular products like the girls set: manufacter it for one year, then catalog the leftovers year after year until it goes away.

Thanks. I missed the Podcast.
Over the years, Lionel has tried to expand their name into other markets. Other than possibly NASCAR, has Lionel ever succeeded with non-train products? Even HO ...... did any of their attempts in the world of HO succeed?
Ah, yes. I remember it well how many predicted here that Battletrain was going to bring a whole bunch of kids into the hobby...

It would seem that since a couple of big dealers bought out the remaining stock of HO Polar Expresses and are blowing them out, the answer would appear to be no.
Lionel understands the O market pretty well, they seem to get into trouble when they try the same formulas in other markets.
Rusty
The Polar Express was expensive as a HO "set". It was sold as individual engine/tender, and cars. Seems if they packaged it and maybe had a track set with it, lowered the price a bit it would have done a lot better. IMO.

20 people were downsized at the beginning of the year, from sales to repairs, to marketing.
Megatracks was the Helios of 2016 Lionel.
