I really like the C & O H7, does anyone here have the new legacy one? If so could you post some video? Thanks

I thought Mr. Lee Willis already posted about that model. Did you try the "search" function? His post may have fallen to the next page or pages.
I have two H7s, both the UP 3595 version, once of which I renumbered 3591. I got one when they first were released and the second earlier this week. I posted about double-heading them recently - Tuesday or Wednesday - it can't be far back. that took a lot of finagling and fussing but I got it to work.
I think the H7 is one of Lionel's best recent locos. Very good appearance: great paint and graphics, lots of detail in all castings and lots of "separately applied" details. Mine are both superb runners. And, it doesn't hurt that the actual H7 was an impressive loco. Handsome and powerful. All in all, this is quite a bit better than many. Of course, it is a rather expensive loco, too - among the most expensive list price Legacy models and nearly into Vision territory.
The Legacy H7 was included in a previous catalog and I recall there were threads about it when first release (can't remember when that was, though).
I've been looking at aquiring a UP version as well. I have watched the UP version on the Lionel website... very nice, however does the C&O version sound exactly the same?
Great engine and highly detailed. My local hobby shop still has one in stock if you are looking.
Wish I was able to attend J Daddy's meet this weekend, I would have brought my new H7 C&O for you and Daniel to see and run. I did make a short video last month but have not uploaded to Youtube yet. I will work on that once I'm back home after the weekend.
Someone above asked if the C&O version of the H-7 sounded exactly like the UP
version. I am sure that most people interested in the H-7 do realize that there was
no "UP version" - the UP purchased their "H-7" (C&O class) locos from the C&O,
so they were actually the same individuals.
This, of course, has nothing to do with Lionel's models, unless it does. But I just wanted
to clear that up for anyone who didn't know. For the majority who already knew this,
we now return to your regularly scheduled programming. Thank you.
P.S. - I wish that I had an H-7, but I don't.
All,
Thanks for the replies. Yes I was aware of Lee's double headed H7's in UP livery. I especially like the Vanderbilt tender. What I had noticed in listening to the 2003 version that the C & O had a different whistle than the UP version that Lionel made. Not sure it is prototypical, but I really like the sound of the hooter type whistle on the C & O version (kgtrains has a video posted). I am trying to find out if the new legacy version has the same hooter whistle, or more like the UP version in Mike Reagan's instructional video. If so I may seek out the 2003 version. DTICraig informs me the new Legacy C & O version sounds like the 2003 C & O version and not the UP one in Mikes Video.
Still looking for video on the Legacy C & O if someone has.
Thanks all,
