There have been numerous posts on Lionel's camera caboose. Most center on the function of the camera. It has been well documented that the camera images can be blurry due to the plastic windows. Mine has a similar issue. What I wanted to review was the caboose itself. I have found that many seem to gloss over how nice the caboose is. The wifi camera will quickly be outdated as technology changes just like like the rail scope engines. What you'll have left is really nice caboose.

I have the PRR version. Paint and decoration is flawless. All handrails and grab irons are separately applied. Windows are flush fit with a nice silver trim. There are 2 figures in the caboose. One is rear facing and one is in the coupala front facing. There are separately applied catwalks on the roof. Each end is equipped with a safety chain and red led light. Interior illumination is led and looks nice. It has the newer style thumb tack trucks which I don't care for. It does have rotating bearing caps which is a nice touch. The steps have a see through tread pattern. The undercarriage has nice details as well. There are 2 switches on the bottom to turn the camera on/off and the lights on/off.

One last hidden feature... the doors on each end are hinged and open slightly. They are not molded in.

I did not have a nice extended vision caboose in my fleet and this is a welcome addition. The camera is cool but gimmicky. To me, the details is what makes this caboose a winner.
