A few years ago, Lionel produced billboard box cars showing the covers of various Postwar catalogs. They stopped the program abruptly without completing it. Since I purchased all of the cars they made in this series, it was quite a let down to me.
I believe that they made box cars for the years 1947, 1948,1949,1950,1951,1952,1954,1956,1957,1958,1959?, 1960 and 1965.
I hope that some of you can verify if my list is correct or correct it if it is wrong.
Strangely, they made a car for 1953 but as a reefer, not a box car. Also, why not do 1955? And nothing between 1960 and 1965. Plus 1966 and 1969 were not made. The whole thing was weird. A real let down.
Would any of you like to see this series completed ad I sure would? I display many of these cars and they make an eye-popping display.
