Lionel Cattle Question

You can get a few of the older style cows.  They are about $1.50 each.  Get 2 or 3 and give them a try: if they work, great, otherwise just lock them in the pen as decorations.

I have found the newer cattle with mohair on the bottom work better than the rubber fingered ones. If you do try the older cattle, be sure they are original. Reproduction ones are made of a too hard rubber and bounce and fall over. I would say the corral needs some adjustments on the adjustment nuts in the corners.

I've tried loosening the nuts.  Maybe I didn't loosen them enough.  

I am with Chuck, I have the felt cows and they are a ton better than the plastic horses. I operate at about 15-16 volts.

Seems to me that there was an article in OGR years ago that explained how to set this accessory up in order to get it to work correctly. Maybe Jim Barrett remembers the article. I also think that the article was in an issue that is before those that are archived.

Any help securing the newer cattle with the mohair bottom? I have the original 3656 with the cattle with rubber feet and the unit works as expected - cattle go through with an occasional trip.  I would like to see how the modern cattle work, but cannot seem to find them for purchase.
