Folks,

A few questions I have on the Class A N&W. The on-line catalog is hard to make out all the details. Second, I will be honest and know very little about the Class A’s.

1. Is the Pyke Headlight the same on all the units on page 16 & 17?

2. Some of the items mention a Class A tender with Coal Extension. Can someone explain that to me?

3. Some captions mention Common Wealth Tender Trucks - do all of the tenders have these, again I can’t tell from the catalog photo.

4. On item 2231480 - What is a Multi-bearing cross head and what is its purpose?

5. Other than the tender which is clear different and the slatted pilot. These look fantastic.

6. I know the LCCA mentioned they’re offering in their December publications, other than extending you club membership as a benefit to buying their version, have they announced a price yet? There last engine of this magnitude was higher priced than the other similar offering. Looking to see their price as it will help Me decide which direction I want to go.

Thank you for your feedback and sorry for the questions.

Respectfully,

Kevin

The way I understand it, the 1218 Excursion version may come with the dual beam headlight (not single beam).

2. Some of the items mention a Class A tender with Coal Extension. Can someone explain that to me?

Look at the top of the coal bin. The extentions provide for more coal to be carried.

3. Some captions mention Common Wealth Tender Trucks - do all of the tenders have these, again I can’t tell from the catalog photo.

Commonwealth trucks should be on all of the tenders.

4. On item 2231480 - What is a Multi-bearing cross head and what is its purpose?

The first ten Class A locos built (1200 - 1209) had "Multiple Bearing Crossheads". Locos 1210 - 1242 had "Alligator Crossheads".

5. Other than the tender which is clear different and the slatted pilot. These look fantastic.
