I believe this unit is prewar. Wires are sticking out from the bottom and probably need to be soldered in place. Been looking for a wiring diagram, all I find is how to attach the 152 to the track. I need something that shows the wiring of the unit 's base itself. If you have one, I thank you for sharing - Tks, Bob.

The two wires appear to be joined together, and solderedto tab on the right.

That is what I would expect to see. One wire for the coil and one for the light, both connected to the insulated bunding post. Coil and light are grounded to the frame which connects them to the other binding post.
Appreciate the thought, good idea !! Any experience with 1937 American Flier 1686 engine. Could use a wiring diagram to repair. Tks again, Bob.
