My newly acquired Lionel Milwaukee Road F-3 spins it's wheels whenvever I put any cars behind it. I have plenty of power to the track as all of my other engines run great. Any ideas on how to make sure this engine can pull it's load or am I stuck with a shelf queen? Thanks in advance for any tips.

Is this a modern era or postwar? If it is Postwar with magnetraction they do not work as well with newer track. If it Modern Era check to see if traction tires are in place. Note some Modern era also had tires and magnetraction
THe last time I saw this happening the rubber ties were worn out and needed replacing.
If you replace them I always g lue them, everybody uses something different, but I have always used 1 drop of superglue /wheel to the wheels, put the tire on , apply glue, spin tire on wheel to spread and let dry. Be aware some will tell you not to do this, but I have never had any trouble and the glue can be removed with a drop of acetone with no problem.

That engine will pull any reasonable load. Clean the wheels and tires with rubbing alcohol and make sure your track is clean. If that doesn't work then change the tires as stated above.
This engine is a MR 18138(Lionel). I cleaned with rubbing alcohol as noted above and it seems to have improved somewhat. I can not see any rubber traction tires at all. Being a novice at this should tires be on this model and how would one go about putting them back on if they are indeed required. I looked in the Lionel site but could not find any tips on this. Thanks again to everyone for their assistance.
Check the wheels closely. You should see a small sholder on the outside of the wheels on the outside of the drive truck. Somebody may have removed the traction tires or they could have been thrown off.

"Your powered A-unit locomotive is equipped with traction tires (Lionel part no. 620-8815-206) to increase the tractive effort of your locomotive set and allow it to pull more cars at once.
During the course of normal operations, the traction tires may become worn out. To replace the traction tires, remove the side frame screws from the underside of the trucks and lift away the side frame. Remove the worn tire, then slip the replacement around the wheel. Reposition the side frame on the truck and secure it with the two screws."
I have the latest F3 offering from Lionel in Milwaukee. As Jim stated, it pulls very well. Something else in play here.
