I am slowly getting back into the hobby and just ordered a BNSF heritage ES44AC from trainz.com. The front and rear MU lines were broken off during shipping. It looks like some stubs are still stuck where the hoses should go. Any advice on how to fix this?

Outside of that, the engine is beautiful!

They should just pop back into their locations and hold with friction, they might need to be squeezed slightly inwards to get them to fit into the holes. You can use some super glue to hold them down permanently

I'll have to give that a try. It appears they snapped off but maybe they both did just fall out.

This has been a really impressive locomotive to play with. My only other locomotive at the moment is a tmcc NS sd80mac #7201 and a ready to run set I got for Christmas 25 years ago. This new legacy engine sure is feature rich and I am only running it on the lionchief app at the moment. I have the base 3 pre ordered.

Here is a picture of the lines. Since this is my first legacy engine, does it look like they snapped off or is there enough wire for me to shove them back in there?

Common problem with the es44's. About half of mine came broken. Just use a little ca and glue them back into the holes

OK will do. They are kind of vulnerable they way they hang off of the front. So it wasn't a shock to me that they were damaged in shipping.

A quick update - lionel sent me the replacement pilots under warranty and I finally got them replaced. Looks great!
