Have had the Pere Marquette version since 2015 and got the Polar Express Version this summer; no issues out of the box.

OOPs, one issue with the Pere, I drowned the smoke unit but Lionel repaired it quickly.

Thank you for your reviews, but I wanted a review on the engine that I listed. Sometimes there are manufaturing problems with a specific engine.
