Both of my Legacy Cab-2's had issues. The newest remote (6 months still under warranty) had a defective accelerator, and my oldest one (11 years old) wouldn't connect to the base anymore. I called Lionel and they gave me RMA's for both units. I still had the original packaging, thank goodness, so I packed them up and shipped them off to North Carolina, a good long distance from California. I got them back today after just a couple of weeks. Thank you Lionel!!! Great Support team, great communication. Lionel repaired both at no charge, and that is amazing for the 11 year old remote!

I've been using my old TMCC Cab-1 remote, just isn't the same, especially with Legacy equipped locomotives. Woohoo, back in business.

So, if you are struggling with Legacy Cab-2 issues, call Lionel and they will take care of you. It is in their best interest for your remotes to work flawlessly.

The lifetime warranty on the Legacy system has been one of the BEST things Lionel has ever done and the fact that it still continues today shows how much they care about supporting their customers.  If you think about it, what other company in the world today would warranty something that long.

I've been Lionel's number 1 critic when it comes to their customer service.  Unable to reach anyone via phone or email, long waits for repairs, etc, etc.  But of late they have been fantastic.  Emails responded to within 24 hours, no long waits to talk to someone on the phone.  Actually talk to someone to order parts during the busy warehouse sale.

Keep up the good work.

Probably a stupid question but do you need your original sales slip to get this service ? Of course I can not find mine now that I'm experiencing problems with my Legacy Cab-2 handheld remote.
BTW, when I looked for parts to see if I could do a DIY repair I noticed the only parts Lionel has available, to the customer at least, is screws.
I'm wondering if this means that they themselves do not even have parts to do a repair. Anyone here know ?

Just call Lionel customer service and they will give you an RMA # and email you a shipping label. You do not need your purchase receipt? The units are not user serviceable, so Lionel doesn’t sell the parts. It’s on the house, no charge to you.
