Try unplugging the Legacy base for about five seconds
Try powering the base up before you power the track.
If the base is plugged into a power strip try plugging it directly into the wall. Must be a 3 prong grounded outlet with no adapters.

First of all Thank You for the suggestion, I tried it and no change. I've been running it for weeks , now all of a sudden I have no control. Thanks Shylo

Thank You for your help, I tried it but still have no communication with the engines or with the command control switches and the engine takes off. Thank You, Shylo
Do all of your engines take off or just one?
I have two legacy engines and as soon as I turn the power on they both take off. Thank You. Shylo.

Have you tried changing the programming switch from run to program to see if you can do a reset on the engines? Reset codes should be in the engine manual.
Yea, It's odd, I switched the engines to program and it has no effect, they just take off. All the command control switches quit working to. It's like the base and controller aren,t on line all of a sudden. I tried to figure it out by looking at the owners manual but couldn't find anything. I was going to re-program it, but I have two blue and two white modules and no explanation in the manual of which one to use. Don't even know if that's the problem. I thank you for your reply though. If the base is connected properly, have you checked where it's plugged in? It MUST have a proper grounded outlet.
Assuming it's not the connection, and you have it properly connected to the outside rail of the track, the base probably crapped out.
To GUNRUNNERJOHN, Thank You, I swapped another base that I had into the system and WOW! Everything's back to normal, Train's are running again, and I am happy for your help. Thank You, Shylo
Time to box that one up and send it back to Lionel for repair.
