Exactly! How does it work? Like GRJ, I hooked up my Universal Remote (with the latest update) to a non-Bluetooth LC+ engine, and then ran the LionChief app on my iPhone, and it wouldn't connect to the Universal Remote. Nothing showed up - the app doesn't talk to the Universal Remote. So what is the procedure?

Yep, me thinks something is missing from the picture!   I used the application icons to switch to hotspot mode, I couldn't see anything else I might do to make it happen.  I toggled back and forth, no joy.  However, the Universal Remote runs the LC+ Camelback just fine with the update, so at least I didn't go backwards.

Me thinks the application may need an update as well.

Lol! ....check out page 18 of the Universal Remote Manual...

I had an older copy, it didn't have the hotspot in it.

In any case, I got it running... but!

Smoke doesn't work!  The smoke control is dimmed out, so I can't change it's status.  Not only that, but after running with the hotspot and app, smoke doesn't work if I go back to the engine remote!  I have to power cycle the locomotive to get the smoke back.  Clearly, since they can disable smoke, they should be able to enable smoke, still needs an update.
