Lionel Mainline Crossing Signal Help

here is a pic of the setup.  I was planning to use them as a push-button crossing for people to do when they come to visit, rather than ripping up the tracks and installing them and having to redo the scenery etc etc etc.  Would anyone know how to reformulate the complicated arrangement here?

Looks like everything is correct. 1. Check the wiring going to the transformer - maybe switch the red and blue wires. 2. Check the 153 contact - you can adjust the spring so that the activation plate is a little higher. That may solve your problem of the gates not going back up. The lights are ties to the gate operation - they should activate as the gate goes down and shut off as the gate goes up.
