I have heard rumors of a 9-digit product numbering scheme to be introduced for 2019. Any thoughts on this system?

I would really appreciate it if they did something like MTH where scale items have a different number series than semi scale.
What I've heard is products are going to be prefixed by scale: 48 for O ( don't know if that's just for the O scale or all O gauge stuff,) 64 for S, 87 for HO.
We'll find out in a couple of hours.

The new numbering system is being introduced in a phased approach. The catalog coming today includes mostly the "old" system of #-##### but the catalog does include a few items with the "new" system formatted as ##-#######. We'll probably just use the last 7 digits to identify most items on a daily basis.
