As I've worked on all my train components I have one last one that I am unable to identify. Appears to be a bridge of some sort. Also has an electrical connection available with one left over wire attached. All my train stuff was purchased and given to me as a kid around 1955/6. I've attached a couple of pictures.

I believe that is Marx item, not a Lionel item..I have seen a few of those over the years.
It is a Marx bridge. My Dad’s set had one . I used it for years on my Lionel layout, as a child. I remember the hand crank was short and could scrape your knuckles on the raised bridge, if you over cranked it.
My brother ended up with the set and the bridge and he still uses it every Christmas.
