Lionel's breakdown booster

I have not seen this item in any later Lionel catalogs. I assumed it was one of those items that was novel when run two or three times, then got real old real fast (sort of like the obnoxious cab crew chatter.) Booster switched off and runs dead in tow.

Not that I wanted one, just curious.
