I have a 193380 Legacy NYC ALCO PA pair on order. Lionel has April on their schedule. Woes this mean when leaving China or arrival in US. Needless to say, April is just a memory at this point.
Don't have experience waiting for pre-orders very much.

I wonder if they have any insight or are making an educated guess. I would think Lionel would be up-to-date. I'm looking forward to these and the VL Challenger which should be in its shadow.
Not sure if they know anything or are just making an educated guess, but my experience is that the major stores can be more up-to-date than the Lionel site.
I'm still waiting on my Rentz Hobby Store.
My NYC Alco PA set shipped from Lionel on Monday. FedEx says I will have them tomorrow. I pre-ordered from the Lionel store online.
Hopefully I will hear something from Mr. Muffin.
Bryant...it is worth the wait! See video:
Have the Lionel NS 8520s and AC6000s shipped yet?

Lionel's own shipping schedule has got slightly more reliable than it was a year or so back. But I think it's still an estimate of when the stock arrives at Lionel's own facility i.e. before being shipped by them to dealers. I don't know for sure if Lionel arranges drop shipments from the port direct to certain dealers but I have read here of them doing that with a particular dealer on the west coast.
Anyway, I'm surprised nobody's suggested checking the Charles Ro website for shipping info. I have found that their estimates of when the stock is arriving with them (as opposed to with Lionel itself) are consistently reliable. For this item they show expected availability as 30 May. Looks like it's arrived elsewhere and been shipped out to customers a little earlier than that. The AC6000s are mentioned above and all the engines of that kind listed by Ro are shown as "in stock" but of course that may be from a previous catalog.
