Looking for an updated LIONEL Shipping Schedule !!

The larger dealers like Trainworld and Charles Ro typically update the "eta's" of products more frequently than Lionel updates the schedule.
Doesn't seem like there has been an update lately. Any word from anywhere on when the Union Pacific Rocket Booster set will arrive at dealers? The shipping schedule on Lionels site says October.
The last time they updated their shipping schedule was March 22nd, 2022.
This is a big pet peeve of mine as I try to plan my expenses out per month so the lack of updates is not ideal.
I know it is hard for them to know the exact timing of the arrivals, but if they at least updated the schedule monthly, then it would give us a better idea than a 6-month-old report.
MTH publishes expected arrivals every two weeks.

Except that I cant find the Charlie Ro shipping schedule on their website...can you?

You put in the item number, then look at the description to see the estimated shipping date at Charles Ro. I find Ro's dates more accurate than Lionel's.
Example of what to look for: ORDERS ACCEPTED-EXPECTED AVAILABILITY BY 11/10/2022

If you select a specific item there is "usually "an eta in the description bottom of the listing.

I ask Mr. Muffin about the B&A berks. November/December time frame.

The irony of this link: no trains are shown transporting anything. Come on Lionel. 😊

The Lionel store website is a decent reference.
Agree with several of the previous posts. In summary, the truisms are:
1) Lionel's Shipping Schedule is hit or miss at times; and
2) Check Charles Ro's web site for info. As others have noted, I find his delivery estimates to be amazingly accurate.
I think you guys should ask them at the York show about this shipping schedule and better customer relations.

Except they are not going to York!!!!! This has been talked about.

This is the "new" shipping schedule as well as the "new" customer relations.
The "old" shipping schedule and "old" customer relations, as well as the "old" parts website were better. It's not likely the "new'" stuff will be changed.

Should I be concerned that one of the items I ordered from the 2022 catalog has been removed from the trainworld site? I still see it available for preorder at all the other online sites. Specifically the 2222020 rocket booster set.
@2naboat I wouldn't panic if one site doesn't have it listed. I would be worried if it drops off the Lionel Shipping Schedule.
You should call Trainworld if you still have a preorder in with them though.

This set doesn't even come up on the Lionel Store website. Which has been a place to get update shipping dates in the product listing.
It might be worth a call or email to Trainworld to see if it's been cancelled.
I would think if you had a preorder with Trainworld that was cancelled they would let you know.
B&A Berkshires according to CharlesRo are now forecast for 11/2023. Entire year behind schedule.

The Lionel Store is a little more optimistic...
- 2231340
- Est. Ship Date: 8/25/2023
One of the wood coach sets I ordered from Charles Ro says March 2023. The Lionel shipping schedule, which hasn't been updated in at least nine months, says Nov 2022.
MTH is/was no better at maintaining their schedules. It seems to me it would take someone an afternoon to do so.
How do dealers, such as Charles Ro, get updated info?

We'll have to split the difference and say late Sept/early Oct

Hopefully it's worth the wait for you Gary.
I had the first Legacy B&A berk and outside of the much improved powertrain, a large can motor in the firebox.
The rest of the locomotive was kind of ho hum, the sounds, no whistle steam etc.
With Lionels recent deliveries. I.e. the class a and the 0-6-0 to name a few. It seems like Lionel has been putting forth a good effort.
I wonder if the Berks are that far behind schedule due to lower-than-expected reservations. May not be the case, but could be a reason. Could be as simple as they are wanting to get them correct and not rush them through the production process.

No, the reason is even more funny. The tooling was damaged. Did some klutz drop it??? My guess, it's a total fabrication of new tooling hence the delay of a year.

I passed on the first Legacy version. I've upgraded my two Kline berks so much, they are close to the first Legacy version in features anyway. Only reason I'm getting one now is Mr. Muffins special run.
Interestingly enough - now it shows in stock and available at trainworld site. Time to check on my pre-order.....

Something similar happened to me last year though I can't remember which model I was looking for. Thought something might have gotten cancelled when I couldn't find it on the schedule but other dealers were still offering pre-order. I went back to the Lionel Shipping schedule a few days later and they were listed again.

Mr Muffins just sent an email saying the Rocket booster sets are in this week.
I just got that email too - I ordered from there - so will be making a trip that way soon it appears. Now we all continue to wait on the Base3 which I also ordered from that catalog.
Charles Ro just shipped me my UP rocket booster set. Engine would double as a good dynamic brake unit for the 2023 Big Boy excursion version . . .
Apparently one of the sets of New Haven passenger cars for the C-Liner loco is in.

Well the new story I heard from someone at Lionel about the B&A berks is much more worse than this. Would be nice if Lionel made an official announcement of what's up as I'm getting different stories. But, we all know that won't happen.
FYI, looks like Lionel has updated the shipping schedule: http://lionel-nascar.biz/lionelship/230515.pdf
A few highlights:
- B&A Berks arriving August
- C&O Greenbriers in July
- NYC Dreyfuss in October
- 20th Century Ltd cars in September
- PRR I1 in November
- Vision Big Boy's in September
Big Boys in September? I budgeted for December haha this is gonna be tricky.
I don’t see Strasburg 89 anywhere on the list. What does that mean?

Didn't these just arrive? Thought there was a new thread on these last week. Maybe week before?
On the 89s…. RO has them listed at being available 07/23.

I don't see the Strasburg #90 on the list either!
