Sarcasm we can do without, for sure.
Having seen the sample I saw at York with my own eyes, you're welcome to review my first comments instead of making snide comments. I said I found the satin gold finish uniquely appealing compared to the gold-plated Hudson photos (which I posted). I then stated the blue-on-gold graphics were harsh on the eye, and were most difficult to look at for an extended period of time due to the color bleed. That clearly wasn't the case in the production model, which I'm glad for folks who had this loco on pre-order.
Had Lionel produced the gold loco that was displayed at York, I would have passed. As it turns out the graphics on the production models were much more pleasing to the eye. The wheel bearing issue is something that needs addressing, but at least it should be manageable without shipping the loco back to Lionel.
As for my comments about the current state of Lionel's aluminum passenger car production, I'll stand by every comment I've made here. And pardon me if I choose to not spend my $$$ on a poorly produced item.
Some of you folks here are the real trip -- it's not the hobby.
