Your Fastrak switches are nice, but the illuminated lantern is a low type used in yards. What about a simple add-on accessory for a high 'Ramapo' switchstand? It would be easy enough to make with a brass tube with a Lucite rod to the lantern on top and just snap on like the original lantern at the base. This would be great for mainline turnouts. Add the little red disc used on the manual swtichstand to the 2" pole on the turnout side. Bet it would be a popular accessory for Fastrak users.

Cottage industry Chuck, you should make it.
An inventor has already created a helpful alternate device as a metal (not plastic) switch stand for FASTRACK switches. IMHO, it's much better than the small (and easily broken by junior engineers) Lionel switch stand. I purchased two of them for my annual Christmas carpet layout. It's pricey, but durable. See details at shapeways.com
The inventors description: This switch signal is designed to be a child-resistant switch stand replacement for Lionel FasTrack manual switches. Remove the old switch stand and simply push the signal post into the gear in the base of the switch. You will have to open the the switch housing to make the replacement.
