Nun if you expect smooth operation, reliable running, and non-derailing feature, what else do you need or want from a 75-year-old switch. They are the way products are supposed to be. You have made a wise acquisition

Hi,
Thanks, I heard so much about the non derailing feature I want to give the a
try, I just finished restoring the 222 I got last week and they work really well.
what size bulb should go in these 18volts with a small glass or other?
Thanks
Tin
The original bulb was a 432 18v G4½. G = Globe; 4½ = 9/16" diameter.
BTW The rated current at 18v is ¼ amp.

Thank you, I have a few of those.

Hi all,
Received 223 switches today, they seem to work, but opened one of them up
and the wire is all bad, hard and cracking, so a little work is in order.
Tin
tinguy,
I've yet to find a 222/223 that did not need a little work. I've found that super-flex or std.-flex wire works best. Give it a try, you will find the wire well worth the extra cost.

That's the fun of it, taking there guy's apart redoing them and watching them
work good as new. this is why I don't buy new stuff, there's nothing to do with
it.

Hi all,
I'm trying out the 223 switches and they sound like machine guns going off,
what I'm I doing wrong?? is there a special way to hook these up??
Thanks
Tin
The chatter is coming from the derailer. Do you have the insulated pins on the 2 derailing tracks?
No, but I'll get some, How many should I get for it and install?
Tin
Two. You need to put one in each outside rail of the diverging track and the thru track.
Ron M
The rails Ron is speaking of are the outside rails that have a split where you can see an insulated piece breaking it. The end of this rail becomes an insulated outside rail with the addition of the insulator at the end of the track. You can pull the track and install a piece of weed eater cord until you get the pins or just leave it empty for now.
If the switch is not attached to any track and still chattering you will have check the wiring.
Great, There's a train show this weekend in Old Greenwich, Conn, I'll get them
there, also are there any parts around for these guy's.
Tin
The insulator pins for STG tubular are the same as O-Gauge O-31 style tubular.
What parts do you need? light bulbs, switch cover, controller
Perfect time to install Clyde Easterly's diecast frogs.
Where do you find those??
Tin
Hi all,
I put in the insulation pins in the switch and they work great! now to get some
new Frogs.
