What happened to www.lionelsupport.com? It comes up page not found, and I am presented with welcome to the new Lionel Parts Store, where I am CLUELESS how to view a parts diagram for ANYTHING, let alone trying to order the cheapo and FRAGILE plastic horn for my ET44AC Norfolk Southern?????
Replies sorted oldest to newest
Yes. Lionel updated it. Type the product number of the locomotive in the product search box. If the parts listing is available you should get a link to it.
I did enter 1934032, which is the Norfolk Southern ET44AC diesel, but all that comes up is the PCB- the "brain" for $150. Does the fact that no parts list comes up mean it isn't available yet for a year old engine?
OK- I just answered my own question- I entered an older engine, and YES, I can view a complete parts list. Thanks for the help!
Figured I would use an existing thread rather than start a new one.
The "new" Lionel support website is a complete and total mess. Document resources have disappeared en masse, and those that still show up aren't even the latest versions.
Please remind me, what was the value that was preached for the "new and improved" Lionel website? Execution on this project has been pathetic and has set Lionel support back severely. When is the project supposed to be "done"?
Apparently they are also using "generic" parts lists for different models, details not withstanding. I ordered a part known to be on a particular engine and got something else.
The new parts site is a cruel joke played on all the people that need to use it.

Maybe they should hire that guy that revamped the MTH parts site...oh wait..never mind.😏
Lionel, I hope you still have the old servers for the old parts site. You need to put them back online. j
What's really a shame is that quite a few items I bought in 2020 have absolutely no parts listed. At best maybe the owners manual. This new website has been up almost three months and its just as bad as the day it launched. The no image available icons are still all the place. How many more months will it take to get parts from two years ago listed on the website ?
Okay does everyone have that out of their systems?
Here's an idea. Send an email directly to Ryan and/or Dave. Don't even @ them here.
Maybe express your concerns about it in a respectful manner without all the editorial pablum that we see in this and the long thread.
I've done that in the past with another general issue I had, and they nicely explained it to me
The whole site is a mess. I can’t just do a generic part search anymore. It says it doesn’t exist. Even if I put their new “SKU# CS-part#” doesn’t even come up. No listings found. EVEN after I copy and paste their own SKU!!
Ive been waiting 3 weeks now for my parts order on top of it.
What makes you think that hasn't already been done?

Pretty sure both Ryan and Dave read this forum. They have been aware of the problem since day one. I suspect its out of their hands,
Pete
"Out of their hands" for Ryan and Dave is probably true.
But for executive management "slipping through their fingers" is rapidly coming to mind.
For a highly-regarded brand like Lionel it takes more than mistake or two to tick off its most loyal customers. It takes genuine effort.
In my opinion this new parts website is a prime example of "genuine effort".

Same I've been waiting 2 weeks for a parts order to ship. Glad I’m not alone. Also I've been looking for traction tires for a older legacy dash-9. The parts site says none are available, but lionel just did a run on the dash-9s.

You’re better off using MTH traction tires. I believe DE-00000018 plus or minus some zeros

There's been more than a mistake or two.
IMO, they're working overtime 🤣
Printing my own traction tires now... so far, so good. We will see how they perform after a year or so of pounding the rails.

Thank you! Ill check it out.

DE-0000018 is the MTH standard diesel tire, I use them for most Lionel diesels as well.
