I watched this earlier today on the tube, awesome!
As a UP steam freak, I've been in Heaven the last few days with all of these BB videos!
Beautiful layout also!
Nice video that demonstrates the features of the engine. Your layout is also fabulous, and the perfect setting for the video.
Nick,
Hands down... THE nicest video I've seen thus far highlighting the Big Boy's features. Still doesn't make me wanna go out and buy one though! (I'm saving up for a Y-6B double-header around mid-2015.) Meanwhile, I'll just play your video when I need a Big Boy "fix".
Super-fabulous layout setting for such a terrific locomotive... but it begs the question, "What curve radius do folks really need to NOT have the Big Boy boiler swing out so much???".
Thanks for sharing your video with us!!!
David
P.S. Of course, as soon as I posted this... I also saw Chris Lord's Big Boy Sightings thread pop onto the "recent posts" column showing the Big Boy at the NJ High-Railers club. Yet ANOTHER world-class video. Amazing stuff!!! Who needs to buy one when we have all these great videos now!!!
Nick i watched your video on youtube and very beautiful engine and sounds are very deep.
Nick, thanks for sharing this video, the Big Boy is a beautiful machine and your
layout makes it look even better!
A Big Boy going through Horseshoe Curve. That I'd pay to see.
Fantastic video and a great looking layout.
Thanks for posting it.

David,
No, no, no! The Big Boy is much better in person. You need to get one!
Nick,
One of the best video's of the Big Boy so far. Thanks for posting.
Your layout is very realistic

Chris, the Railroad CFO informed me that if I wanted to double-head Y-6B's, I could not get a Big Boy!!! I suggested the Y-6b's would come out of next year's capital budget, but it didn't work.
David
Nice!
Wow! Great video and beautiful layout.

Fantastic video.....thank you and enjoy your new addition!

Outstanding Nick,
Lionel should have you in their marketing department.
I thought the best scene was when the little girl, (your daughter?), leaned into the frame and appeared to be entering into a real life setting. Reminded me of my parents taking me down to the rail yards in Pittsfield in 1947.

Even with O240 curves there is noticeable overhang.
Nice video. Minor touch-up: at the end with the dual smoke note on the video, the word "dual" is incorrectly spelled "duel." Although the MTH guys may think a gauntlet has been laid down with Lionel, I think the the point of the video was about the cool smoke feature. ;-) Since your video will likely get many hits on Youtube, something to clean up quickly. Thank you for posting and sharing.
Great video and engine. Several members of PIHR are getting them. The only thing I think if dumb on all steam engines is the talking. I never use it on any of mine. JMO
Great video. As a father of three boys, hearing your son in the background makes it all the more special. My oldest, just finished his first semester in college, came home last week for the holidays and was just spent from exams. On his first night back he slept in the basement with the trains running.
When I first got into the hobby, your early videos where very helpful to me, living in NYC, I loved the tags!
Happy New Year.
Excellent!!!!!!!
Nick,
I am not a UP guy but wow, what an engine. The thought of a Big Boy on Horseshoe Curve.......I am hoping for a UP/NS merger.
Great looking layout too.

Nice

All I can say is WOW…….

Not that it matters cause its your railroad, but if I'm not mistaken Y6b's were primarily used as pushers, rarely doubleheaded if ever...
So now you've got a legitmate reason to buy the BB.
Joe
Congratulations for building such a nice layout with a suitable stage setting for the running of the Big Boy. One of the few layouts that I have seen that can accommodate such a large engine. Thank you for sharing your excellent work with us.

You might want to do more research on how the N&W REALLY used their "Y" class and "A" class steam locomotives, before making a statement like that.
Great Video Nick! I love the view of the big boy and nkp 765 passing on the tracks. That was a great shot in my book.

...
I'm sure the Y6b could push, but I can't imagine that being its primary mode of operation.
Truth be told, the Big Boy has never really called my name. Given all the incarnations Lionel has offered over the years, I've yet to feel compelled to purchase one. The Y6b on the other hand has always ranked high on my wish-list. So it appears we're gonna stick to that plan. Should be an impressive sight!
David
Nick....Absolutely beautiful layout!!.....and....so far the best Big Boy video I have seen!
Thanks for posting...
Alan
WOW!!!! Nice video and layout. I wish I bought it now.
ENJOY!!!!
So many to thank here for all the kind compliments, and video views! Much appreciated guys! Lovin the bigboy! Keep the tops of those rails shining!
