Hey! I'm just curious to know if anyone is/was able to get their vision line GG1 on any curve smaller than o72.

About a year ago, someone bought a duplicate JLC GG-1 w/TMCC I had listed for-sale here on the forum. And he told me O-54 wouldn't cut it, so he was planning to add an O-72 loop to his layout.

O-72 really is the minimum with the GG1. One of the few engines where it just won't fit on track smaller than that.

Thanks Dave !
I'd recommend O 80 if you can fit it. On less than perfect O 72 curves sometimes the wheels lift off the track. They don't derail, but it's a tight fit even at O 72 This is true with my JLC and 3rd Rail versions as both are true 1:48. Just my opinion.
Just confirming what was said above ....... my VL GG1 has problems on Atlas O-63 track.
The JLC GG-1's were notorious for being finicky even on O-72. I have all of them and I can confirm that. When you run one of these into a diverging route of an O-72 turnout, you MUST go slowly. I would bet anything smaller than O-72 will be pushing it and I think a diverging route on an O-63 turnout is a guarantee of future problems.
Zach: Unless you have your heart set on a Lionel, Williams makes a fairly well-detailed scale GG-1 that will take 042 curves. Yes, it looks awkward as h*ll, but if you can run 054 or 063 it ain't bad.
