I got the same message and was wondering if some items will be on line.
It looks like some good deals. Wish I lived in NC! At least, that week.
Looks like fun, but nine hours one way is a bit much, that would take a lot of the "bargain" out of the prices.
The more detailed listing seems to be heavy on NASCAR items and indicates few "real" Lionel items. Bet dealers will be thrilled to have this happen so close to Christmas.
Where do you see the "detailed listing"? Was it mail-order or just in person?
It is just in person. I also did not see anything worthwhile even if I did live close.
last year sell was a dream come true my dad racked up on American Flyer cars for $5 a pop!! a F.E.C Station Sound dinner car for $25 and a powered legacy Santa fe ALCO PA-B for $50. I got him a brand new AF Baldwin V1000 switcher for $25 as a Christmas present. I also got mean extra passenger car for my crescent limited set for $25 and a LCCA operating BNSF refrigerator cars for $25. I Know this year to have a folding hand truck with me!
Good Day,
What is the best airport to fly into to visit this event?

Thank you for the information.

I received the RCCA Elite catalog earlier in the week. This is a NASCAR collectors club catalog. It had all the Lionel NASCAR trains, 6 variations, on sale for $225 each with free shipping.
I'd love to go, but 10+ hours each way is just a bit much
Any one know what is on sale besides G Gauge and diecast?
Gunny
too far for me
The add is G gauge / Nascar / $35 Little Lionel sets. What's the attraction?

Did not get the e-mail but I wonder what the reaction is from some of their dealers. Williams and K-Line used to do this and they got their dealers very upset.
Also, is their a detailed listing available?
It seems Lionel should make this an online sale to give everyone a fair shot at the bargains without travel
SEEMS LIKE lIONEL WOULD OFFER THESE ITEMS ON A WEB SITE AND CLOSE THE DATE A WEEK OR SO BEFORE OPENING IT UP TO WALK IN TRAFFIC...JUST MY 2 CENTS
Good Day,
I'm curious if the engines from the on-line Lionel Store will be on sale at this event?

I don't normally purchase new or recently made product, still I'd drive a couple of hours to attend the sale. For me it would be a much longer trip.
If the sale was just over stock, I guess it could be done online, but I get the impression that a significant portion of the merchandise will be seconds, "scratch and dent", or otherwise defective merchandise that would be difficult to sell online.
Perhaps there is a venue where several thousand O-Gauge enthusiasts gather where Lionel could sell this stuff. YORK??? just a thought. I'm sure there are people / agents out there Lionel could contract to do this for them. just a thought?>!#@$#

I went to the Lionel Red Carpet event this past spring at their North Carolina facility. They certainly had a lot of locos on sale at super blow out prices. I don't see anything that is currently advertised for me to make the drive South.

Let's see, pack all this stuff up, transport it 600/700 miles, unload onto purchased space/tables, pack up what did not sell and transport it back to Warehouse at Concord, NC. How much would that cost and add to prices?
Oh, and only TCA members traveling to York could participate!
Like it or not the Lionel warehouse is just down the street in Concord,NC. The logical place for a warehouse sale is at the warehouse.
