I have a few questions, A, will early boards "blow up" as easily as 5v ps2 (since they introduced at the same time?) B. If a is true, are they easily repairable? and C. are they generic sounds?

The boards don't seem to die as regularly as the old 5V PS/2 boards did, at least in my experience. There are different sound sets, though not nearly as many as with PS/2. These are all factory programmed, there is no capability to program these in the field.

I have some small steamer boards if you're ever looking for them.
The basic things like lights, smoke are repairable. They do seem to be hardier then the PS-2 5V. G
