I have one of the early Z4000 transformers. This transformer does not have an external adjustment for the handles which I believe the newer ones have??. Is there any way to tighten up the handles on this older transformer. Thanks in advance.

An authorized MTH repair technician can install a spring tension that goes inside.
I think Jim Barrett in one of his back shop sections had a fix for this. I remember it involved removing a screw directly under each controller, then inserting an eraser from a pencil and then inserting a spring (from a pen?) and replacing the screw. This caused tension on the control handle and kept it in place. That is the gist of it but do not remember anything else. I do remember he cautioned that doing so might void the warranty but it is probably long out of warranty by now.
