I like the American Flyer 794 Union Station, A while ago I bought a few and Kitbashed a bigger station.  However, I hated the "cheesy" windows strips that were used to make the station appear to have windows with green frames. See photo.

Being stuck at home, I disassembled the "kitbashed" station to add NEW windows. Using CorelDraw I created window frames to be laser cut on my GlowForge in black 1/8" thick acrylic. It was the easiest project to just replicate squares in a frame to fit within the window openings.

The resulting window frames are much too simple; so using the delete function on CorelDraw I deleted symmetrical horizontal rows of points to create a much more interesting window. See both below.

Only 164 more windows to cut; it's a big station I have time; 1 minute per window cut time, so another 2.67 hours to go.

I may engrave the actual window glass in clear or frosted acrylic to press fit into the frames.

NOTE:  IF you dont own a Glowforge you can rent one at selected Joann Fabrics and Crafts; of course not now but later in the year when they re-open; unless this is "essential service" in your area!.
