I have some 4566 flatcars with reels and am trying to determine whether the reels are repro or original. They do not look brand new. Color is gray. Can anyone help and perhaps with photos? Thanks.

Thank you so much. I think mine looks exactly like the photos. I am selling mine on eBay and a self proclaimed expert is telling me that the original reels have two holes on each side so mine must be repros. I don't see the two holes in the Greenberg photos, so I think he may be misguided. If I am misinterpreting, please send me a followup reply. I can't thank you enough for giving me a resource.

Thank you again Frank. My light and medium blue ones that I have listed are from a pretty high quality and older collection, so I was pretty sure. But when I had an "expert" tell me otherwise, I became concerned since I collect primarily Lionel -- having very little Marx.
Now it seems that the expert who believes my cable reels look like repros thinks the Greenberg photos are all of repros. I find it difficult to believe that the publisher could not find originals to photograph. If anyone of you has a positively known original reel, I would love to hear from you.
