I was gifted this Marx Commodore Vanderbilt sans wheels and reduction gear.  I've taken wheels from a donor motor, but the reduction gear is the wrong size.  What size should I be looking for?  Tried searching the Forum with no success.

(And yes, I fabricated an axle bushing from brass tubing.  Gears, however, are somewhat beyond me.)

Thanks!

The metal sided motors with one intermediate gear and "fat" drive wheels all take the same gear as far as I know.

The later motors with fiber sides take a much larger gear. Do they have the same type of drive wheels?

Do I misunderstand the question?

No, that answers my question.  Thanks!  The donor motor was a fiber side, which explains the larger gear.   The drive wheels seem to be the same size as the one surviving Vandy wheel.

Putting an order in with Grossman now...

Thanks again!
