Marx custom Auto Unloader and Magnetic Overhead Crane | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Many Marx owners have a Marx Overhead Crane that decorates the layout. I added an electromagnet to the crane and now it is a very useful operating accessory. The electromagnet was pulled from a Lionel 027 uncoupling section. I added a 2 cell AAA battery holder and miniature toggle switch.

Next, for the auto unloader I took the top portion of an American Flyer 715 auto unloader and modified the bottom frame of a Marx 7" four wheel car to accept the AF 715.
