Hi,

I was told today at a train show that the green Marx Switchman's tower was a prewar one and the red one was post war, is that the case?  I have begun to collect Marx items from around 1939 and I am trying to learn the differences before I buy.  I know that Marx used green to indicated battery operated accessories and red for electric, although I just saw a red painted battery operated 3 light signal lamp.   It is a shame that no one has done a nice book like Doyle did for Lionel that listed the years or production and the different color schemes for thos years.

          Thank you,

          Kevin
