A number of Marx dealers had complained that some cars were not moving well. The Flynn's came out with this set to help them. Other than the engine, tender and caboose, there was only one car. The PRR hopper was only available in this set. The idea was, being as there was a lot of room in the set box, the dealers would add a couple of their slow movers. The customer would get a unique set with a hard to find car and the dealer could move some slower product. I have seen quite a few of these sets for sale through the years and only one ever had a car other than the way it was sent to the dealers. Go figure?
