Thanks for the fair, honest and accurate review. Menards gives the hobby a good, affordable entry level product.
Menards trains are exactly what the market needs in semi scale O gauge. Along with Bachmann Williams they offer the simpler more affordable trains. While true scale is very nice, IMO you need a large layout to show them properly.

BFIMO! Where's your BFIMO?
For me it's the flashing LED's on the back.

Hard to complain for $25, nice review Eric.

I don’t always do BFIMO, especially with small stuff like a caboose. But, if I was going to choose one it’d be either the flashing lights or the frosted windows.
Thanks,
Eric
Thanks for the review, Eric. Those blinking red markers probably look pretty cool when the lights are off in a layout room. Guaranteed to get the grand kids excited.
One definite plus for Menard's rolling stock is that with the extensive use of plastic, at least you'll NEVER be concerned with or worry about possibile future zinc pest!!!

But you might have to be concerned about Proposition 65 if you live in California--one commenter has already stated that he found the website won't ship to California addresses because of it.

Great review Eric... I just was noticing that your rolling stock Menards sent you has no number decals on the side. I would’ve thought they had them... mine do:
Did they send you their pre-production models?

Menards is now only shipping the latest releases to California that have the Prop 65 label on the box. I’m in Sacramento & ordered the latest boxcars & caboose releases and received them without any issues.
"Items with the Prop.65 label"
That probably explains what the poster experienced then. He mentioned assembling a sizable order that most likely included older product that is not labeled.
