There comes a point in every prototype modeler's realm of reality that a man's gotta' stand up for his sense of decency and state the obvious....................................
Yechhhh!
Kinda' DO like the pickup truck in the first picture, though. At least it's plausible. (And regardless of my personal realistic railroading preferences, M&M's peanut candies are STILL my all-time favorite candy!)
Oh, well. To each their own.
Well I kept a low profile after asking and asking for a black single dome tank car. Now I just have to bide my time to order them when either the 11 percent deal is on or Menards offers something else instead of the lighted vehicles. And I don't do fantasy schemes but the M&M's has really got my interest. Paul 2

It should be in the Dec. issue in CTT
Have any "real life" photos of the Valvoline tank car to show yet, Bob? I would like to get one, but only if the "weathering" isn't that obvious.

The Valvoline tanker really look great, decisions, decisions.
Received my December issue of CTT yesterday and the Menards "pull-out" catalog is indeed in there.

Thanks for taking the time to add these photos Bob! I am in a quandary, as I really wanted this tanker until I found out about the weathering. I wonder how Menards decided, out of all their newest releases, to weather a "fantasy" item rather than any one of the other prototypical road names items just unveiled.

Check out Menardsville on the back page

Yes, there has been some discussion about the "paleness" of their Penn Central green & Conrail blue items. (Remarks of which are sometimes met with comments by some that we "shouldn't complain" because it is a $19.99 item.)
Dad, looking at the back page of the catalog am I seeing a variation of a small building or do I just need new glasses. #1......Paul 2
Paul, You probably need new glasses. Even after I got my cataracts removed, I seem to need new glasses all the time!
Menardsville is looking fantastic!! -Wannabe Son #56

?????
Dad, in the picture on the back page of your Menards city to me it looks like two different Dave's gas station buildings. From the angle of the pic it looks like the signs are different colors.............Paul 2.....downgraded from #1

Yes, you are correct. One is Dave's, the other one is from a few years back with Paul Menards Nascar in front of the station and also its labeled Quaker State. Good eyes !!! Now, see anything else ????
You don't need new glasses, Paul! Now we have a challenge! I'll have to take another look after I come back in from mowing!
The game is afoot dad. I can cancel the eye appointment LOL................Paul 2
LOL I cant get a copy so I cant play!
Send me your address Mike, and I'll put a copy in the mail. I have quite a few extras!
Thanks Mark, I sent you a PM~

Anything else? Yes, what's the building just to the left of the water tower that's located at the top of the page? I have every building Menards has offered, but I don't have that one. So....., let's have it Bob. You can tell me, I won't tell anybody else!
If you mean the one with the green roof, it's another of the gas station flat ( not the whole building)
Mustang, I actually noticed that one too! You know how it is, from the factory to Dad's arms first! LOL
Nope, I'm looking at the building to the left of the water tower at the TOP of the page. (There are 2 water towers in this photo). Not the engine house in the back ground, but the building just to the left of the TOP water tower. Must be setting about 6" to the left of the TOP water tower on the layout.
MUSTANG, I saw that too but didn't have a chance to respond to Dad last night. The shape and color of the building looks very different. I always knew Dad had a direct route to Menards and got things first. It will be interesting to see if this is going to be the next release............Paul 2
Mustang and Paul, I was wondering about that building last evening too. However, after mowing and cleaning up leaves yesterday, I was too tired and sore to post the question.

Ahhhhhh. You guys have good eyes. Yes , it is a Menards building and its twin was just added after this picture was taken.... hows that ????
Great answer Bob, way to think on your feet. I am guessing you are on your feet and not the ladder.
I will post pictures later
?????????????
Just a thought.
Was it an identical or fraternal twin? Inquisitive minds want to know.

Fraternal, but you can definitely tell they are twins
Thank you,

Great eyes guys ! Well, the suspense is over. It's the VERY FIRST Menards building that was built in 2011. The Garden Center was next in 2012. From 2011-2013 there were 8 buildings made by Woodland Scenics.Bob
Wish I could find those buildings somewhere !!!

I would like a water tower in my stocking this year, Dad

The Garden Center is very hard to find. I looked several years to get this one. The Menards Building pops up on the after market every once in a while.
Fantastic stuff. I think my son will be getting the ICG hopper (possibly the IC box also) for Christmas this year.
Oops, My Mistake. I didn't recognize it from the rear. I do have both of those and maybe doubles of at least one of them. Not sure which one.
Thanks for the photo, Bob.
