Yesterday my wife, I, and grandson were in West Middlesex, PA so that my wife could pick up a birthday present for her brother. Since we were in the area I thought that my grandson would enjoy visiting Mercer Junction (www.mercerjunction.com), in Mercer, PA. We had a great time there. Dave gave my 8 year old grandson the DCS remote and let him run the trains. Dave gave him the choice of diesel or steam. Of course my grandson chose steam. He really enjoyed blowing the whistle. While there we also ran into Allan Miller, who was giving some of his hard earned money to Dave.

The Link to the photos I took can be found on my web site: www.parisiconsulting.com. Click on the "Mercer Junction" link in the "What's New" box.

By the way the June/July issue of OGR magazine will have an article on this hobby shop layout.

Love to hear when this happens!    Sounds like a great place to check out when I get out to the other side of the state again.

The town of Mercer, PA  is the county seat of Mercer County, PA accessable Via US Rt 19 off Interstate 80 or Rt 62 off Interstate 79.  A rural Pennsylvania community with a strong Amish presence.  Off the main roads, you are quickly back into a different time. IMO most would enjoy the trip to Dave's shop.  Click on the underlined phrase to access a Google map. Dave's shop is located on the town square behind the Court house.

Yes there is lots to do around the area, in my case  It helps that there is a Quilt Shop directly across the street from Mercer Junction Train Store that Ilene loves to visit and A few miles away is the little town of Volant with many unique shops several actually located in railroad cars, then there is the Grove CIty Outlet Mall and West Middlesex another thriving small town America city, The rolling hills and Amish farms makes it an enjoyable day or two.
