I just got done repainting 10 random roadrailers and turned them into Triple Crown roadrailers and was wondering whats the best clear coat to you to seal my project? I used rattle can valspar satin white paint for the base. Now I have some decals on it from micro scale and some die cut decals I made on my vinyl cutter and would like to seal it up. My question is, could I use the same valspar satin clear to cover the micro scale decals without an issue? lmk Thanks

Testors flat clear will not harm Moicroscale....not sure on Valspar. A coat of Pledge Futre floor shine is safe too....it's what I use since 1983.
Thanks! I tried the Valspar Satin clear and it worked great!
I never had any luck with decals over satin. My best work is decals over gloss, with Solvaset, then gloss on top, then Dullcote or equivalent. The new equivalent of Future Floor Wax is best for gloss, in my opinion. My decals go over Scalecoat, then I cover them with the acrylic wax with a Q- tip, then Floquil flat clear out of an airbrush.
I tried some of that Valspar clear (from Lowes right?) a while back and swore I'd never use it again. It reacted with the type of paint I was using at the time, probably Floquil.
I've been using either Testors Glosscote or Dullcote or Krylon Clear Gloss or Clear Dull and they work great.
I got mine from Fleet Farm but that dont matter eh. I noticed that when sprayed real heavy it reacted but light coats it worked just fine eh.
