Yes; I seem to remember seeing one or two in the Milw Rd yards in the mid 60s.

The cars pictured are Kinsman kits, one I purchased as a kit, then purchased second one built up from collection being sold off.

How about a Labor Day version of MWM?

This is kind of a screwed up video, but here it is anyway.  I just received my new Lionel  NYC 2-8-0 Consolidation Saturday.  I didn't have a chance to try it out until today.  I put it on the tracks and did a short test to see if everything worked alright (it did)  I pulled the diesels off the freight train that was sitting on the track, hooked up the Consolidation and off we went.  After looking at the video I realized that the cars in the train didn't match the era of the locomotive.  At that point I made an "executive decision" and proclaimed that "It's my layout and I'll run what I want, when I want."  So here's the story; The Penn Central was so strapped for motive power that they pulled an ex NYC consolidation from the scrap line and put it to work.  It is struggling to get the train over the road, but it is getting the job done.  That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

BTW,  I love the locomotive!  Kudos Lionel!

Gulf Mobile & Ohio

Fresh out of the box, this B&O EA #55 “A” (by 3rd Rail Sunset) pulled the “National Limited” into St. Louis Union Station. No one’s done the passenger consist so I’ll be piecing it together as well as possible one car at a time.

2.  Here's a Wisconsin and Southern SD-45-2.  WSOR has (or at least had) a paint shop and contracted for painting other roads' equipment.  WSOR's own engines were always spiffy, and I sure hope it stays that way.

And many of you may recognize this unique structure behind some more pedestrian modern electronics.  But it's O Gauge and not plastic.

Well back in early August, I posted this picture in Front End Friday thread.  My " Chessie System" consist but I had only the engine, tender and caboose.  So today I am continuing to build my consist.

I just recently acquired this simple, small Chessie System cattle car.  The Lionel #7401 from 1984-1985

This little 0-27 cattle car is no jewel, its mostly all plastic except the wheels, axles, and a sheet metal floor frame.  Its a few years later than the #8008 die cast loco above (1980) but at least its "Chessie" so I will continue to add cars as I find them...all for fun.

Ed - good luck I hope you find one...note that while its not a heavy weight PW car, she seems to track well and keep on the rails...so its a good operator car.

Burlington Junction RR operates in Burlington, Iowa, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Le Mars, Iowa, Ottumwa, Iowa. Valley Park, MO, Quincy, Illinois, Rochelle, Illinois and about a 15-to-20-minute walk from my house, Montgomery Illinois.

Well "Midwest Monday" folks, I guess I will have to start off this week.  You may recall that as I mentioned over the last few Monday posts, I am trying to build a consist of "Chessie" System rolling stock to pull behind my MPC #8008 Chessie System steamer.  I showed the caboose and tender earlier and last week a Chessie system cattle car.  Well, I went to a local train show on Saturday and found ANOTHER Chessie car!  Best of all, it was complete, unbroken, and in the $5 box!!  It is the Lionel Chessie System hopper car (0-27) from 1975 (available in two time periods 1975-1979 and 1987-1989).  So one more to add to my consist!

So at this time, we lived on the western shore of the Chesapeake bay just south of Baltimore and had moved there from Ohio...so what would be more natural than the Chessie System (Chesapeake and Ohio plus Baltimore and Ohio).  Anyway, that's my update on my Chessie System hunt so far.

Thanks Ed maybe I should’ve said “Manifest” think this Geep will be by himself as I’m going to use it as a switcher. Thanks for the complement.

Well everyone, great pictures and posts all...@jay jay - that is one beautiful display of cabooses !  Some of those are really unique and unusual.  Thanks for posting everyone.  All you folks know, I am off trying to build a consist of "Chessie" System cars... Why? because its fun and the wife and I spent a lot of years in both Ohio and along the Chesapeake near Baltimore, so we have a connection to the C&O and B&O.  Last week I posted my new (to me) gondola that I had acquired at a local train show and this week I have luckily found a Chessie boxcar !  This one at a very low price (unusual) on E-Bay!  So here is the Lionel 16232 Chessie System box car from 1992-1995 being cataloged in '92 and '94 and uncatalogued but offered in '93 & '95.

Here is the entire car in side view.  Its hard to tell in a photo but the basic color is a very dark blue.

Here is her famoun "Chessie" designation plus the markings of her home road C&O

And of course here is the famous "cat"!

Well this gives me a loco, tender, stock car, hopper, box car and caboose.  Now all I need is a gondola and a tank car and I can call this consist complete.  Video's of it running will come next I think.

Green Bay and Western behind a Rock Island BL-2

Well following Dave's lead today with the Rock Island.  Here are some RI locomotives and rolling stock hard at work.

The RI Alco S3 from Marx (1962) leads a string of RI boxcars towards the yard.

Here the switcher is getting ready to turn over the train to road power.  A RI ABA lash up of E7's again from Marx.

Here is a better view of those sleek E7's.  This A-B-A lash up from Marx dates to about 1958

Here is the train departing, 3 RI boxcars and a RI bay window caboose...all from Marx.

Well MwMon fans, I seem to be the last post from last week.  Unfortunately I don't have too much in the way of traditional "midwest" roads.  So I thought I might try one of the Canadian roads, the Canadian Pacific.  Yes it begins in Vancouver on the west coast and terminates in Albany , NY in the east.  However it also runs through Duluth, Minneapolis/St.Paul, Milwaukee, Chicago, and Kansas City...So I think it might qualify.  So here are some of my CP trains.

First, Lionel's attempt to improve on the 6464 series box car, the # 39308 "6565" series car from 2008-2010

At the other end of the Lionel licensee history, the Lionel #9708 boxcar from 1975-1976

Then, somewhat further along the Lionel #9057 SP type caboose from 1978-1979

Well that's it for me this fine (Holiday) Monday.
