Larry those cars are awesome. If I ran the Frisco car on my layout I would have to put an articulation joint in the middle 😀
Best wishes
Don
Thank you Don, I understand what your saying, these cars are the same length as Lionels scale auto carrier cars, 24 inch’s. I was blessed to have a fairly large basement to allow wide curves and long runs. My layout isn’t real large (17 by 36) but making it a walk around and nod under, we can run long trains. Happy Railroading Everyone

@MikeH , those are nice looking engines. Don't see much MoPac stuff , they seem to be "under the radar".

As I pulled up to the crossing by the grain elevator I heard a horn...
Happy Memorial Day.

PS: As I was about ready to post this I heard a vocalist singing "God Bless America" at the local Memorial Day ceremony.
Well today being a Holiday and family visiting my time today is somewhat limited. So I will offer some "Rock Island" action for my contribution today. (all trains both loco and rolling stock are Marx of various years).
Here is the RI S3 Alco switcher moving a few boxcars up for pick up by road power.
Here she is about to drop them off at the yard entrance and turn over responsibility to the road diesels.
Here she is moving out of the way and allowing the RI E7 road diesels to take that train on up the line towards their final destination.
Happy Memorial Day to All
Best Wishes

Larry - thank you for your comments on my RI pictures and layout. I have been following your posts as you hook up some long standing accessories on your layout. Thanks for posting. Best wishes

Sorry Jim it’s summer I’m busy with the garden and other small farm work lots of mowing grass and little train time. The tank car looks great
Detroit - that is some tank car!! I can see why it earned the nickname "white whale" Really cool. Mike H - that is a beautiful GP-7 love the MOPAC livery. Sorry I just got too busy today, like Lee, and the day got ahead of me. I will try to post next week.

Late to the party this week. Between work and family commitments, there aren't enough hours in the day.
A little AC&Y action this week:

@DETROIT posted:Mike - outstanding!!! What dealer did you buy it from???
Mr. Muffin. I preordered last year when they were rumored to be arriving (again). When I did, Steve told me his preorders were all spoken for so I shouldn’t get my hopes up. But he put me on the list and I got lucky. It’s funny, there was another thread about these Atlas GP7’s that said Atlas announced them in 2014. It made me laugh to think about all that has transpired in my life since then. Our family made two interstate moves from NH to OH to MO. And in Christmas of 2017, I bought my first O gauge train! Eight years is a long time.

Yes, I bought the MTH RK version years ago. But also snagged a RK flat car with three axle trucks. Some day will get around to the change out.

Well here we are at "Midwest Monday" and it looks like I am the likely start off poster. Have something a little different today and you wouldn't know that it was appropriate for this post UNLESS you knew that "Dr. Pepper" the soft drink, was INVENTED in Waco, Texas. The inventor was Charles Alderton who worked in a local drug store in the 1880's and who was also the resident "soda jerk" behind the soft drink and ice cream counter. He experimented with various combinations of flavors and found the secret to Dr. Pepper, it became locally famous and then in 1904 he founded the Dr. Pepper bottling company to ship the drink in a broader market. The original Dr. Pepper bottling plant is still in Waco and is the site of the Dr. Pepper museum (by the way if it interests you and you are in the area, this Museum has a great collection of "Americanna" especially from the 30's - 50's). So since Waco Tx is west of the Mississippi River and about 1/2 way between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans (1125 miles to Savannah, Ga and 1423 miles to San Diego) It must be the Mid - West ! So from 1994 here is my salute to the Mid-West on this fine Monday, the Dr. Pepper Christmas Car.
Happy Monday everyone! Best wishes for a great week

Beautiful H16-44 ... and layout ...
Well MWM fans, how about a little Penn Central from the perspective of Mr. Marx ... a toy train set dedicated to the PC. This one likely from the early 70's. Marx Set # 4316 , 4 wheel cars with plastic knuckle couplers, transformer and track. Your entire RR empire in one box. Similar sets sold at Sear's at that time for about $10. By the way, I have a companion set, that illustrated if you didn't like Penn Central, you could have set #4205 and Marx would change out the tender and caboose for NYC and you could have that RR instead all else remaining the same. In fact if you look closely at the illustration on the box for this set, the picture shows a NYC tender and caboose !!
Best wishes everyone, hope you have a great week.

Thanks!
The building on the left is a Korber #950 Flag Factory. The center building is a Korber #967 Shoe Factory. The one on the right is a Lionel engine house that I kitbashed into a factory building. Can't go wrong with the Korber buildings.

Thanks for the info. It’s nice seeing how the buildings are integrated into a scene too 🙂👍
Hello Midwest Monday crew! Its Monday and I'm in Ohio so here we go this week.

Happy Independence Day!
It may be a holiday for many people, but the railroad keeps on working. A Penn Central transfer run leaves the yard on a hot July 4th:
