Very nice Don Thanks for sharing it so where have you been hiding this little gem???
@lee drennen - Lee, humorously and somewhat red-faced, I will admit that I have had this car for some time. However as you can see in the pictures it is mounted on a nice piece of oak with a neat section of track...so I put it on my desk for ornamentation. I have been looking right past it for most of the year ! Glad you liked it however. Thanks for your comment.

Good evening MwM fans!
I found some more AC&Y action:
Have a great week, everyone!

Well today fans of MwMon I have decided to post an entry from the "Nickel Plate" or New York, Chicago, and St. Louis RR which covered parts of New York, Ohio, Illinois, and Missouri...
The Lionel NKP #8040 2-4-2 from 1970-1972
The Lionel #6919 NKP caboose from 1986-1991
Best wishes, hope your week goes well

Good afternoon, MwM fans!
Some Penn Central action featuring coal and steel:
Have a great week, everyone!

Hello MwMers,
Fresh from French Lick, Ind. I never had any Pluto Water (thankfully) but I liked the car.
Regards,
Bob
I don’t have much midwestern rolling stock on my roster, but I do have two very colorful entries from the Milwaukee Road…
And now a question for the Milwaukee roadies amongst us… I really like the dark red trucks on these two cars. Was that a standard on the Milwaukee Road???
Great contributions guys see here on next weeks MWM.

It’s by the Amtrak station it’s not a yard just a bunch of tracks I was sitting on westbound I-64/40 when I took it. That’s one of the things I miss about working up there Rail Fanning and getting paid for it 😂
Well WsM fans, how about the Chesapeake and Ohio railroad with lines in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin as well as Ontario (Ca). I guess that qualifies as "mid-west".
Here is the Lionel 8008 Chessie System 4-4-2 from 1980 along with the Lionel 9381 Chessie caboose from 1980 as well.
Next we have the Chessie System #9016 hopper car from1975-1979,1987-1988,& 1989 uncatalogued.
Finally the Lionel # 9740 Chessie System box car from 1974-1975
Well Best Wishes to all

Good afternoon MwM fans!
Penn Central and AC&Y diesels work the interchange track:
Have a great week, everyone!

Great stuff guys so I’ve been so busy lately playing catch-up for the chores I didn’t get done this summer because of the Heat. Thanks for sharing your pics
Well some other folks were going "Canadian" today so I thought I might post some Canadian Pacific rolling stock that I have in my collection. CP stretched from Montreal to Vancouver and also served Minneapolis-St.Paul, Milwaukee, Detroit, Chicago and Albany, New York. So although on the northern rim, it certainly did serve some key mid-west markets.
So starting off is the Lionel #9057 SP style caboose from 1978-1979
The Lionel #9758 CP Rail boxcar from 1975-1976
Finally one of Lionel's 9464 premium box cars from the year 2000
Best Wishes
Don
Well again I am a little short of anything that I can claim to be from the "Mid West" but here are some attempts.
The Lionel 7931 0-27 type boxcar from "Town House" appliances in Niles, IL.
Another Illinois box car from the Illinois Central Rail Road, "the Main Line of Mid-America".
A Rock Island transfer caboose by Lionel in the hands of a RI GE 70 Ton Diesel switcher by Marx
Here that same GE 70 Ton pulls a RI caboose.
Best Wishes everyone

Penn Central GP20 2109 (Lionel) is assisted by GP30 2202 (Lionel) on the point of a manifest freight:
Have a great week!

Well, in the last few Monday posts I have sort of favored the Rock Island. So since I am primarily a toy train collector, I thought you might enjoy seeing some of our more recent "history" in terms of what was being offered in the market a 1/2 century ago. This is the "Rock Island Express" set from Lionel (MPC) in about 1973 -1975. It contains one of the first electronic breakthroughs...the "Mighty Sound of Steam", along with smoke, headlight, die cast boiler & electronic reversing. The box lid is shown below and after that the inside contents. Interesting contents include a blue transformer (not black), a "Route of the Rockets" caboose, an auto rack (no cars) and a bulkhead flat.
Here is the engine, on my layout ready to go. She runs really well for being 50 years old. Note that the valve gear on this Atlantic is more complex than the later years of the same 4-4-2 type locomotive offered by Lionel. Note also the detail cast into the boiler front and pilot. She was an honest attempt to continue the classic Lionel line and at the time one of the best MPC put out.
Not in the original set, but here are 2 0-27 Rock Island box cars that go well with the consist.
Best Wishes and Happy Thanksgiving

Well going to school on @trestleking here are some other Rock Island box cars...all Lionel.
Best MwM wishes to all. Happy Holidays
Don
Well keeping a bit with the Rock Island RR, here is a Marx 1998 Rock Island, Alco S3 moving freight up the main line. It will turn it over to the road engines just above the depot.
Here are the Rock Island road engines ready to receive the freight delivered by the switcher above. These are EMD E7 A-B-A from Marx.
Best Wishes and Happy Holidays

Thanks Art, it's a learning process.
Great photos everyone! Dave I am with Art, wonderful weathering!
I only have one coil car and after seeing Patrick's I decided to weather it. Whenever I see one in real railroading, they are usually pretty rusted.
Thanks for jump starting the thread, Jim.
Here's my PC GP20 mu'd with a GP30:
Jim, I assume you are eyeing the PC U28C in the latest Lionel catalog? Where oh where is the PC GP9 and GP9B? I have been wanting a Legacy PC GP9 for years, I might have to get the black CR unit and put the proper logos on it
Tom
Nice train to watch.
Here's a video of a SW8 pulling a train through Killbridge Junction. I made sure it had the transfer caboose on the rear for you, Jim!

I am certainly no expert, although a big Milwaukee fan. My two books on their freight cars show both black trucks and maroon trucks. I have no history right off hand as to why they painted both ways. I think the maroon trucks do look good on models as well as the real cars.
Here's some Penn Central action to kick off Midwest Monday this week:
